Around the NBA

By INSIDEHOOPS.COM

An ultra-quick rundown of the important stuff from last night:

Aaron McKie had a second straight triple double, helping the 76ers beat the Hawks. McKie just won a Player of the Week award and is essentially enjoying his coming-out party as a terrific all-around NBA player.

Joe Smith went nuts last night, scoring 28 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Jerry Stackhouse chipped in a mere 33, and the Pistons upset the Mavericks.

Bonzi Wells had a season-high 27, helping the Blazers detroy the Pacers. Portland has now won 6 straight games. Wells has started three straight games in place of Steve Smith, who is hurting.

New York has won 5 in a row. They just beat Boston by 9.

The 76ers have the league's best record, at 22-8.

The Grizzlies beat the Hornets for the first time ever last night. (That's not a joke.) The entire Vancouver team decided to show up, and every starter produced double-digit points.

Warriors center Marc Jackson is still proving himself, scoring 22 and grabbing 12 boards in a loss to Denver last night. Antonio McDyess had 25 points, 17 rebounds for the Nuggets.

The Bucks keep on winning. They've gotten W's in 15 of their last 19 games and are now 4th in the Eastern Conference.

The Clippers lost to the Suns last night (by 5) but as we hoped they would, put up a fantastic effort.
