Cavs sign Scott Williams
By InsideHoops.com / Sept 28, 2004
The Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday signed veteran center Scott Williams to a one-year contract.
Williams will help back-up starting center Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
The 6-10 Williams is 36 years old. As a backup on the Chicago Bulls he won three championships.
“Scott will be valuable contributor for us on the court and to our team in the locker room,” said Cavaliers President and General Manager of Basketball Operations Jim Paxson. “He helps solidify our frontcourt rotation and gives us another proven winner. His insight and experience will be a tremendous asset to our team.”
For his career, Williams has averaged 5.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists.
He's also a "locker room guy" - a good interview and inspires teammates to work a bit harder and be positive in spirit.
