Marc JacksonThe New Jersey Nets needed to add size this summer, and they did so by getting big Marc Jackson from the Philadelphia 76ers for future draft considerations. The 6-10, 253-pound Jackson has had injury problems during his career, but last season played 81 games, averaging 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game. He's rugged and should definitely help the Nets. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner recently met with Marc for a quick exclusive interview.

InsideHoops.com: The Nets needed a big, rugged dude, and that's definitely you. What are your early impressions on the team?

Marc Jackson: Very good team. Very good chemistry so far. Everything's coming into place. Good situation for myself. Good chance to win the championship.

InsideHoops.com: What have the Nets told you about fitting in with the team?

Marc Jackson: They actually didn't tell me nothing yet; they just want to let me play my game, and they'll see how it goes from there.

InsideHoops.com: Going back to Philly, what were your highlights or fondest memories about being with that team?

Marc Jackson: Just playing and wearing a Sixers jersey, being from Philly. Born and raised in Philly, so being able to wear that jersey after watching them on TV growing up, that was my highlight.

InsideHoops.com: And you went to Temple, so you've been a Philly guy forever.

Marc Jackson: Yes sir.

InsideHoops.com: So now you're still close, since Philly's only an hour or a bit more from here.

Marc Jackson: Exactly.

InsideHoops.com: But now instead of Iverson, you're with Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson. So how was training camp?

Marc Jackson: Training camp was good. We got out of training camp with no major injuries, which is always very important. Very important. And everybody went hard.

InsideHoops.com: And does it seem like you might start alongside Nenad Krstic, or is that not known yet since Jason Collins has been out?

Marc Jackson: I don't know. I'm just going to play ball and see what happens. Whatever happens, happens.
