Anthony ought to win this prize due to his tremendous performances in each matches. But Kidd is also very honorable in this team, since he managed to make the team USA like an NBA team, instead of an ALL-Star team.
but this feels like awarding a Finals MVP back in 2004. this team really didn't have an MVP. it was a true team effort. some players were more important than others but nobody stuck out really. you could make a case for Kidd, Kobe, Melo, or Lebron, just like on those Pistons you could make a case for pretty much all starters and not be altogether wrong.

gotta go with 'bron. Sorry I don't see whats so special about Melo's game. He was designated scorer so people were looking to him to knock down his jumpers. Don't get me wrong, he played great, but Lebron had a nice all round tourney putting up numbers across the board. I think if you had to choose one guy from TeamUSA 'bron would be one of the first names to pop up. It would be a hard choice for sure but at the risk of feeding the troll i'd go with 'bron.
Both guys had great tournaments, but when you look at it game by game seriously who'd you feel had more dominant games. Not looking at the little things that you look for after the game. But in game was getting more attention due to dominance? Melo. Until he missed that game against the worst team in the tournament, he was without question having the best tournament.
And Melo had a great all around tournament too. He played in one less game, led the team in scoring was behind Dwight by .1 in rebounds, had a few nice assists, defended well, game changing highlights, and always sparked the offense in the beginning of games. There's no freakin designated scorer, there are guys that get open and guys that dont. If one person has an open shot and Melo has a contested one, they didn't exactly go to Melo.

actually, it was VERY questionable. The only thing Melo did was lead the team in scoring, thanks entirely to the selflessness of Lebron and Kobe and Kidd.
who was #2 in scoring, yet #1 in assists? And also played much better D than Melo the Matador? Lebron.
