Have people forgotten Kobe had 9 straight games with 40+?
Including multiple 50+ within that stretch..all this playing next to SCRUBS with all the defense focused on Kobe.. Nobody cared back then...
why is Lebrons run getting so much attention?.. hes playing with one of the most stacked teams of all time and isnt seeing nearly the amount of defensive attention that Kobe did...
Re: Have people forgotten Kobe had 9 straight games with 40+?
Lebron's great supporting cast is a hindrance on his stats, not an assistance. Most players - including Kobe - tend to put up better stats the worst their teammates are.

James can actually go for more points if he chose too, and still have a better fg% than Kobe.

Next to scrubs? For 7 of those 9 games he had prime Shaq...
Not to mention during the streak he had games of 40 and 38 shots, averaging 31 FGA/game for that streak. It's actually a streak the opposite of what LeBron is doing. Kobe was doing whatever it took to keep scoring, LeBrong is barely taking any shots and still scoring.
Re: Have people forgotten Kobe had 9 straight games with 40+?
How can people possibly forget when that's one of the things constantly brought up about Kobe?
81 in a game, single-handedly outscoring a team 62-61 over three quarters, 40-point streak, averaging 40 in a month, 35 in a season, etc. Kobe fans always cite the scoring numbers, so there's hardly any chance of it being "forgotten" any more than anything Jordan did being forgotten with people who can copy and paste a laundry list of his achievements or tell you anything he did in his career. I find it silly when people talk about anything players who get/have gotten plenty of media attention being "forgotten," when they are plenty of players who aren't/weren't the recipient of such attention and thus actually get forgotten and slip through the cracks.
Re: Have people forgotten Kobe had 9 straight games with 40+?
Are you kidding ME? The whole world at the time gave him his due. It was all over the papers here in NY and on the sports radio. To say he didn't get his due is just a general retard statement considering all the praise he got for it. Hell I even bowed down. He was dubbed the young Jordan
Re: Have people forgotten Kobe had 9 straight games with 40+?
Lebron is not scoring crazy numbers, it's just his efficiency that's making everyone go crazy, with the assists and rebounds adding to it. Perhaps you mean why they don't bring it up now during the Jordan comparisons. I think it has more to do with his dominance the last few years than his last 6 games. And also while someone like me does get impressed by the numbers of shots a player can put up, most people probably view Kobe's streak as simply taking more shot and ball hogging, which is a lot easier than shooting 14-15 or whatever Lebron shot.
