in the days when blacks were not allowed to play in the nba. the harlem globetrotters were the greatest barnstorming team that everyone wanted to see. they beat local teams and were more popular than the "professional" basketball teams of the era

the globbies even beat the world champ lakers in 1949

besides goose tatum, marques haynes was their best player. because of conficts with management, he went on to play on other pro teams for over 40 years! the stories of him are lengendary and hos ball handling skills are second to none

marques is a HOF-er

we got so boned. between larry's back, kevin's ankle, and the deaths of len and reggie. len should have been our rookie in 1987. he would have sent kevin back to his 6th man role and maybe saved some of the wear and tear on those legs. he would have given us another top notch shooter, rebounder, and defender to throw at the lakers after that brutal series against the pistons. same thing the next year. then by 1989 reggie was coming along. there could have been another smooth transition for the Cs. damn barbara bush didn't wage the war on drugs soon enough!
