Dirk 22,6 PPG average

Barkley 22,1 PPG average

Dirk 2 finals/1 title

Barkley 1 final/no title

Dirk 12 time all-star/12 time all-nba team

Barkley 11 time all-star/11 time all-nba team

They have very similar careers but Dirk's run/title in 2011 puts him in front of Barkley any way you slice it.

I can't buy a single argument for Charles over Dirk especially since he went glory hunting in Houston and still didn't win a ring while Dirk stayed in Dallas and did.

This team didn't get this nickname for the heck of it. Olajuwon had shooters on DECK! His team came through TIME, and time again for him. Plus, overall Hakeem had more depth. Outside of Stockton, Houston was better. Otis Thorpe and Sam I Am were better than anyone else on Utah outside of Stockton, and Big Shot Bob needs no explanation. If you saw that series, you'll see that the triples were what killed Utah; Utah had NO center that was worth a damn, so the doubles came, and the parade of threes came. Plus Malone's shooters weren't hitting their shots, so no floor spacing for Karl to work with, and Stockton choked as always. He got outplayed by Mad Max in the closeout game in '94.

By '95, with the addition of Drexler, there was no QUESTION Houston was the better team.
