The Phoenix Suns today acquired two future second-round draft picks from Golden State in exchange for second-year forward Zarko Cabarkapa. To take his place on the active roster, the team activated center Jake Voskuhl, who will be in uniform for tomorrow’s game vs. Minnesota at the Target Center.

The Suns will receive from Golden State a conditional 2005 second-round pick and an unconditional 2009 second-round pick.

Cabarkapa, a 6-11, 225-pound forward from Serbia & Montenegro, was selected by the Suns with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft and averaged 4.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.2 minutes in 52 career games with Phoenix. In three appearances this season, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.0 rebound. He spent the first 17 games of the 2004-05 season on the injured list (left knee tendinitis) before he was activated on December 7.

"We feel extremely fortunate to acquire a young and talented player who was a mid-first round draft pick a year ago," said Mullin. "Zarko will provide our team with additional size, while his youth, ability to play multiple positions and potential are very intriguing. We think he has a bright future in this league."

Prior to joining the NBA, Cabarkapa played five seasons overseas in Yugoslavia with Beopetrol (1998-01) and Euroleague club Buducnost (2001-03), having made his professional debut as a 17-year-old. In 2002-03, he averaged a career-best 14.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and shot 68.6% from the field in 19 games in the YUBA League, while also averaging 11.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 13 Euroleague games. Additionally, he was a member of the gold-medal winning Yugoslavian team at the 2002 World Championships in Indianapolis.

Voskuhl missed the last 11 games and was placed on the injured list on Dec. 10 after appendectomy surgery earlier that morning. The 6-11, 255-pound center is averaging 2.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in 12.0 minutes in 13 games this season.

The Suns (26-4) now have 12 players on their roster.
