The Timberwolves (2-4) host Chicago (3-3) on Wednesday, Oct. 26 atTarget Center in their seventh preseason game of the 2005-06 season.Third year point guard Kirk Hinrich leads the Bulls with 11.7 points per game.
Forward Michael Sweetney is averaging 10.8 points and 6.2rebounds per game. In the teams’ first preseason match up on Oct. 17, Minnesota jumped outto a 45-33 halftime behind Kevin Garnett’s double double. Garnett finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes on the floor. Richie Frahm played 34 minutes and posted 12 points as the Wolves held on for a 97-89 victory.
After losing to Indiana, 93-76, in Billings, Mont., the Timberwolves cameback and earned an 89-85 victory in Milwaukee. Garnett netted 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while holding number one draft pick Andrew Bogut, to only eight points.
The Wolves host the Detroit Pistons at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, S.D., on Friday (Oct. 28) to wrap up preseason play.
Jaric Debuts
Off-season acquisition Marko Jaric saw the floor for the first time as a member of the Timberwolves on Oct. 20 against the Indiana Pacers in Billings. After recovering from a sprained ankle suffered in practice before the preseason schedule began, Jaric played 27 minutes and scored four points while dishing out seven assists. He had six points and seven assists against Milwaukee on Oct. 22.
Open Scrimmage
The Timberwolves will host an open scrimmage tonight (Oct. 24), from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Target Center. The scrimmage is free and open to the public.
