Warriors Report
Warriors schedule and a few team notes
RICHARDSON STARTS NEW YEAR WITH A BANG: Jason Richardson has scored
24-or-more points in three of four games in 2004...Since the New Year, he
is averaging 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.25 steals in
38.0 minutes.
RICHARDSON'S GUARD-ED TERRITORY: Jason Richardson is joined by Tracy
McGrady and Paul Pierce as the only guards in the NBA averaging at least
18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.00 steals per game.
NICK VAN EXEL CLAIMS FIFTH PLACE: When Nick Van Exel sank his third
three-pointer of the night at Dallas (1/7), it give him a career total of
1,361 three-pointers, passing Dan Majerle (1,360) for sole possesion of
5th place on the NBA's all-time three-point list...He needs 181
three-pointers to tie Tim Hardaway (1,542) for fourth place on the list.
WARRIORS SCHEDULE HAS BEEN UNKIND: Golden State is coming off a stretch
in which they played 12 of their last 16 games on the road (5-11 during
stretch). In fact, the Warriors have only spent nine of the last 31
calendar days in the Bay Area and have practiced at their Downtown Oakland
practice facility just twice during that 31-day stretch. Not only has the
calendar schedule been tough on the Warriors, but the opponents have been
also, as Golden State has played the third toughest schedule in the NBA
according to Jeff Sagarin's NBA Sagarin Ratings
