The Chicago Bulls announced today the signing of nine-year veteran forward Gary Trent. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 6-8 Trent joins the Bulls after spending the past three seasons with Minnesota. Last year with the Timberwolves, he played in 68 games and averaged 5.6 ppg and 3.2 rpg in 15.1 mpg and shot .473 from the field.

“Gary is a tough, physical player who will provide us with some additional frontcourt strength,” said Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson. “His low-post presence will be a welcome addition to our team.”

Trent, originally selected by Milwaukee with the 11th selection of the 1995 NBA Draft, has appeared in 506 games and averaged 8.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg and 1.0 apg in 19.5 mpg and shot .501 from the field. Trent, 29, has made the playoffs five times, while playing for the Timberwolves, Dallas, Toronto and Portland.
