Atlanta Hawks re-sign Jason Terry
Organization matches offer sheet from Utah Jazz
As expected, the Atlanta Hawks this afternoon announced the re-signing of free agent guard Jason Terry to a contract.
Terry, a restricted free agent, signed an offer sheet with the Utah Jazz on September 11 and the Hawks took the full 15 days allowed to make a decision. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
"We are ecstatic to have Jason return as a member of the Hawks," said General Manager Billy Knight. "He is a dynamic young player that represents all of the qualities we look for in our players and we look forward to his continued development."
Preparing to enter his fifth season in a Hawks uniform, the 6-2 Terry has career averages of 16.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals. He displayed more balance in his game a year ago, dishing out a career-high and team-leading 7.4 assists per contest to go along with his 17.2 ppg average, which was third highest on the club.
The team leader in free throw and three-point field goal percentages, assists and steals, Terry also recorded the first triple-double of the career in a February 28 at Chicago when he finished with 23 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds.
