Dallas Mavericks Blog: Mavs beat Sonics
Mavericks Basketball Game, Jan. 30, 2007
Dallas 122, Seattle 102 -- The AP reports: Dirk Nowitzki was off his game and Josh Howard was out for the birth of his first child, so Austin Croshere had to pick up the slack for the Dallas Mavericks. Croshere had a career-high 34 points and seven rebounds as the Mavericks beat the Seattle SuperSonics 122-102 on Tuesday night, stretching their home winning streak to 14 games... Jason Terry's 19 points, Greg Buckner's season-best 17 and Devin Harris' 16 helped the Mavericks set a season high for points and beat the Sonics for the ninth straight time. Ray Allen had 35 points, 19 in the first half, for Seattle, which tied a single-season club record with its 13th consecutive road defeat. Nick Collison and Earl Watson both had 15 points for the Sonics.
Dallas Mavericks Blog: Mavs lose to Bulls
Mavericks Basketball Game, Jan. 26, 2007
Chicago 96, Dallas 85 -- The AP reports: P.J. Brown's first priority was guarding Dirk Nowitzki. The key points Brown scored in the fourth quarter were a bonus for the Chicago Bulls. Brown played his typically good defense and scored six points down the stretch to help Chicago snap the Dallas Mavericks' eight-game winning streak with a 96-85 victory Thursday night. "Tonight things were rolling and the ball felt good," said Brown, who finished with 12 points... Nowitzki had 28 points and 11 rebounds, but shot 7-for-22 from the field and the Mavericks lost for just the second time in 23 games. Ben Gordon scored 30 points for Chicago and Luol Deng added 21... Kirk Hinrich added 15 points and eight rebounds and Ben Wallace had 17 rebounds for Chicago, who improved to 19-6 at home.

Dallas Mavericks Blog: After Beating Pacers
Team Notes, Jan. 5, 2007
Win the win tonight, Dallas has won three straight over Indiana after having dropped three of the four games prior. The Pacers missed the opportunity to end the Mavericks current win streak. Indiana ended the 14-0 start Dallas had in the 2002-03 season.
The Mavericks extend their win streak to 12-games, marking their second 12-game streak of the season. Those streaks are tied for the third longest in team history.
The Pacers scored 91 points tonight. The Mavericks have held their last 11 opponents below 100 points and improve to 23-2 when the opposition scores below the century mark this season.
Josh Howard scored a game-high 25 points while adding a team-high 11 rebounds in 37 minutes played without a turnover. He has scored 20+ points in 12 of the past 19 games and is averaging 20.8 points over that span. Dallas is 12-1 when he scores 20+ points this season after going 19-0 in 2005-06. Over the past six games, Howard is averaging 10.5 rebounds. The Mavericks are 4-1 when he has a double-double this season after going 12-0 in 2005-06.
Devin Harris scored a career-high 24 points tonight on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 shooting from the line. He scored 13 of his points in the fourth quarter. Over the past three games, Harris is averaging 18.7 points per game. Harris did not score above 14 points in any of the 19 games prior to the last three.
Dallas Mavericks Blog: Team Review
By InsideHoops.com, Jan. 1, 2007
The Mavericks are hot as always and continue to be a championship contender. They reached the finals last season, losing to Dwyane Wade and the Heat, and have a terrific shot at returning to the championship round. Their main competition in the West is, as before, the Spurs and Suns.
Dirk Nowitzki is all-world, and this season is averaging 23.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on 49.2% shooting and 39.7% from three-point range. He's unguardable. And he's improved his defense over the last few seasons.
Josh Howard has taken his game up to another level this year, putting up 18.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.32 steals and 1.18 blocks per game on amazing shooting. He's getting all-star mentions and has a shot at getting named a reserve by coaches. It'll be tough, but the fact that he's even being considered says a lot.
Jason Terry, scoring 16.2 per game, provides the remaining scoring punch for the Mavs so far this season.
Jerry Stackhouse isn't scoring as much as he can. His shot is off, with 40.8% shooting and awful 25.5% from three-point range.
Erick Dampier plays 26.0 minutes per game, scores 9 points, but does a great job hitting the boards with 8.4 per game.
The Mavs will make the playoffs. Anything less than reaching the Western conference finals would be a severe disappointment. As for returning to the finals, they've got a good shot but the Spurs and Suns are just as good.
