Knicks sign Bruno Sundov
Knicks News / Sept 8, 2004
New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that center Bruno Sundov has been signed to a contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal are not announced.
Sundov, 7-2, 260-pounds, appeared in four games for the Cleveland Cavaliers and one for the Knicks during the 2003-04 season, averaging 2.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 6.6 minutes. The six-year NBA veteran was signed to a 10-day contract on Jan. 21, 2004 by New York. In 81 career games, the Croatian-native has averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds for the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Cavaliers and Knicks.
“Bruno will add size and depth to our frontcourt,” Thomas said. “I have monitored his progress throughout his career. We have seen his improvement and feel we are getting him at the right stage of his development.”
InsideHoops.com View: Sundov will sit at the end of the bench and occasionally come in the game to show nice shooting ability for a big guy, run around with his arms sticking straight up, and bump into people without getting called for a foul. When not in the game, which will be most of the time, he will drink water, watch the game and clap his hands.
