IBL News | Nov. 15, 2005
The International Basketball League Cedar Valley Jaguars has signed Dennis Rodman. Rodman will play in two games of the IBL league season on May 19 and 20, 2006. Rodman was twice named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and was a member of two championship Pistons teams in Detroit and three title-winning Bulls teams in Chicago. The 6’8” power forward also led the NBA in rebounding for seven consecutive seasons.
“Dennis Rodman is a truly unique human being, who is not only a great athlete but also one of the best entertainers in the world.” said Jaguars owner Eduardo Diaz.
Rodman will join an impressive roster of six returning players, including guard Nelson Maisonet who averaged 21.4 points per game in the 2005 season. The Jaguars have also signed two international players and are in the process of signing two more. Additional team members will be chosen from among 32 players set to attend training camp in March.
The Cedar Valley Jaguars, formerly called the Waterloo Kings, will commence the season under General Manager Eduardo Diaz in April.
