EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ, April 5, 2005 - The New Jersey Nets have named Petra Pope to be their Senior Director of Entertainment Marketing, Brett Yormark, CEO and President, Nets Sports & Entertainment, announced today.

Pope will be responsible for the Nets' in-game entertainment and fan experience operations, including the video production, the dance team, music, lighting and the mascot. She will also organize and oversee the team's special events.

Pope joins the Nets after 14 seasons with the Knicks, including the past six years as Director, Entertainment Marketing, and was responsible for creating the Knicks City Dancers. An innovator in the specialized discipline of entertainment and special events for the sports industry, Pope produced on-court entertainment for the NBA-WNBA games played at Madison Square Garden, including hiring the dancers and choreographers, selecting music, designing costumes and providing creative oversight of performances vital to sustain continuity during time-outs and quarter breaks. Additionally, Pope was also responsible for creating the first children's dance team for the Knicks and Liberty and the first Dance Camp in the NBA, and also oversaw team special events.

Prior to joining the Knicks, Pope was the manager of the Lakers Girls and the on-court entertainment for Lakers games from 1983-89.

"Petra is the most creative and hardworking entertainment director in sports," said Yormark. "She has set the highest standards for producing fresh and exciting in-game performances, and is intensely involved in every aspect of the fan experience. We are truly fortunate to have Petra join us as we continue our goal to be the best in class in all aspects of our organization."

"I look forward to such a great opportunity," said Pope, who was born in Neiderweisel, Germany. "It is clear to me the Nets are an exciting franchise that is dedicated to giving the fans the best entertainment experience. I am thrilled to be part of that vision."
