Nets sign Anthony Goldwire

The New Jersey Nets have signed free agent guard Anthony Goldwire to a 10-day contract, Nets CEO Rod Thorn announced today. In a related roster move, Hubert Davis was placed on the injured list with patella tendinitis of the left knee.
Goldwire has played in 224 career games in the NBA for five different teams (Charlotte, Denver, San Antonio, Washington and Minnesota), averaging 6.6 ppg and 2.9 apg. He signed the first of two 10-day contracts with the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 7, 2004, and appeared in five games, averaging 2.6 ppg and 2.0 apg in 13.2 mpg. Goldwire was later signed to a 10-day contract by the Milwaukee Bucks on February 28, 2004, but did not appear in any games.
Davis, who signed with the Nets on January 26, 2004, has appeared in eight games with New Jersey, averaging under a point per game in 3.9 mpg.
Goldwire will wear # 9.
