NBA Rookies of Month are Channing Frye, Chris Paul

Channing Frye of the New York Knicks and Chris Paul of the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets today were named the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in November.
Frye, the eighth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, ranks second in scoring (14.2 ppg), field goal percentage (.511 percent) and blocks (.85 bpg) and third in rebounding (6.1 rpg) among rookies. Frye recorded 20-plus points in three consecutive games from Nov. 16-20, becoming the first Knick rookie to do so since Gerald Wilkins during the 1985-86 season and the first New York player to do so off the bench since Latrell Sprewell during the 1998-99 season.
Paul, the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, leads all rookies in scoring, assists, steals and minutes, averaging 16.4 points, 6.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 36.7 minutes during November. Paul, the Hornets’ leader in scoring, assists, steals and minutes, ranks fifth in the NBA in steals and twelfth in assists overall.

Channing Frye, New York Knicks:
- Nov. 18 @ Denver: Recorded a career-high 22 points, while adding eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in a 95-86 loss to the Nuggets.
- Nov. 20 vs. Portland: Tallied 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting and had six points and one assist in a 103-92 win over the visiting Blazers.
- Nov. 26 vs. Philadelphia: Recorded a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds in a 105-102 overtime win over the visiting Sixers.
Chris Paul, New Orleans/Okla. City Hornets:
- Nov. 12 vs. Dallas: Shot 10-of-14 to record 26 points, while tallying five assists and three rebounds as the Mavericks defeated the Hornets 109-103.
- Nov. 18 vs. Atlanta: Led the Hornets in points (25), assists (12) and steals (five), while adding seven rebounds to lead the Hornets past the Hawks 95-92.
- Nov. 23 vs. Minnesota: Tallied 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a 84-80 victory over the visiting Timberwolves.
Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month were Atlanta’s Salim Stoudamire, Houston’s Luther Head, Indiana’s Sarunas Jasikevicius, Milwaukee’s Andrew Bogut and Utah’s Deron Williams.
