Spurs sign Linton Johnson

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have
signed forward Linton Johnson III. Per club policy terms of the contract
were not released.
The 6-8, 205-pound Johnson spent a majority of the 2003-04 campaign with
the Chicago Bulls. For the season he appeared in 41 games for Chicago -
with 20 starts - averaging 4.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 17.9 minutes
per contest. Johnson first signed with the Bulls on September 29, 2003.
He appeared in 18 games with Chicago before being waived on January 6.
On January 9, Johnson signed with the Rockford Lightning in the CBA
where he averaged 15.6 points and 8.5 rebounds in 21 games. He then re-joined
the Bulls on February 28 - signing a 10-day contract with the team -
and spent remainder of the season with Chicago.
Johnson played four seasons at Tulane University averaging 6.7 points
and 4.9 rebounds in 107 career games. He went unpicked in the 2002 NBA
Draft after averaging 9.0 points and 6.5 boards as a senior during the
2001-02 season.
