New Jersey Nets hire Jim Sann

The New Jersey Nets have hired Jim Sann as a coaching associate, Nets President Rod Thorn announced yesterday.
"Jim is a veteran of the NBA who brings a strong knowledge of the game to our organization," said Thorn. "He will be a valuable asset to both the coaching staff and the players."
Sann has 14 years of experience in the league, most recently as an advance scout with the Houston Rockets. Prior to Houston, Sann had spent one season as an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors and 11 seasons with the New York Knicks in various positions.
A native of Larchmont, New York, Sann holds a degree in political science from the University of Colorado. In 2003, he participated in Basketball Without Borders-Africa, a program incorporating basketball instruction and educational programs for 100 of the continents young basketball players.
