Spurs re-sign Robert Horry

The
San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have re-signed forward Robert Horry.
Per club policy terms of the contract were not released.
The 6-10, 240-pound Horry has won five NBA Championships during his 12-year NBA
career. He captured his first two titles with the Houston Rockets (1994 and 1995)
before winning three straight with the Los Angeles Lakers (2000, 2001 and 2002).
Horry spent the 2003-04 season with the Spurs. During the regular season he averaged
4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.9 minutes in 81 games. He also saw action in
all 10 of the Spurs playoff games, averaging 6.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 21.1
minutes in the postseason.
Selected by the Rockets with the 11th overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft, Horry
has played for Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Antonio. In his career he
has appeared in 856 regular season games, averaging 7.7 points, 5.2 rebounds,
2.4 assists, 1.15 steals and 1.01 blocks in 26.6 minutes per contest. Horry has
also seen action in 175 playoff games, averaging 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7
assists and 1.34 steals in 31.2 minutes in the postseason.
Horry holds several NBA playoff records including the most three-point field goals
made in a playoff game without a miss (hitting 7-for-7 at Utah on 5/6/97) and
the most steals in a Finals game (with 7 at Orlando on 6/9/95). He ranks second
in NBA Finals history in three-point field goals made (with 38) trailing only
Michael Jordan. Among active players Horry ranks among the top 10 playoff leaders
in games (third), points (tenth), rebounds (sixth), assists (tenth), blocks (sixth)
and three-pointers made (third). He is the only player in the NBA to rank in the
top 10 among active players in all six of these categories.
Horry - who will turn 34 on August 25 - enjoyed his best season during the 1995-96
campaign when he averaged 12.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.63 steals
and 1.54 blocks in 71 games with the Rockets.
