David HarrisonIndiana Pacers rookie center David Harrison was recently spotted on a 2005 episode of MTV's Real World, a famous reality show. He was visiting MJ, a friend of his who was one of the show's season-long stars. InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner met with Harrison in Madison Square Garden before a recent Knicks-Pacers game to talk about it.

InsideHoops.com: You were just playing a PSP (Playstation Portable). I know it belongs to (Pacers guard) James Jones. Like it?

Davis Harrison: It's nice, I want to go get one. It's about that time to go get one.

InsideHoops.com: What game were you just playing? I didn't see.

Davis Harrison: It's a bootleg Tetris. A variation of Tetris. But it's really cool. It's the same thing with Sidekicks, you look around the locker room, somebody got one, everyone else gets one. It's like a fashion show, something cool, somebody got to go get it.

InsideHoops.com: I saw pictures of graphics for lots of games for the PSP, and they look insane.

David Harrison: It's like an LCD screen, it's amazing.

InsideHoops.com: And as for MTV's Real World, you were on it. What's the deal, you were friends with MJ, one of the dudes on the show, and visited him for a few days.

David Harrison: It was fun. That's my boy.

InsideHoops.com: And how do you know each other, from school?

David Harrison: We played against each other in high school. And he went to college when my dad coached at Vanderbilt. And I always used to hang out there. Him, and my other friend Benjy were roommates, so that's how I met MJ. And we just instantly clicked. It's been a nice, long friendship between the two of us. It's a lot of fun.

InsideHoops.com: You played against each other in football? Or basketball.

David Harrison: Football. I played basketball, too, but they didn't play against us in basketball.

InsideHoops.com: And on Real World, how did it feel having all the cameras pointing at you all the time? You're used to cameras from playing sports and being here in the league, but it must be different being followed 24/7 for a while.

David Harrison: It got a little crazy. No matter where we went - I mean, I hadn't seen him (MJ) since my sophomore year of college, so we were just trying to hang out and talk, and some guy is standing right there. The thing is, they're silent, though. They aren't allowed to talk to you. So you can be like, "please move," and they just stand there. It's weird.

InsideHoops.com: If you ask them to move or do something, they won't talk to you, but will they at least sometimes do what you say?

David Harrison: Yeah, I mean, what they want is, when you don't want to be on camera, that's what they want. So, they'll leave, but keep pointing the camera.

InsideHoops.com: So it was fun overall?

David Harrison: Yeah, it was pretty fun. I was just hoping I wasn't going to make it on the show. I want to thank them, they didn't show a lot of stuff. But it was fun.

InsideHoops.com: I went out of my way to watch that episode, and they didn't show anything controversial or anything at all.

David Harrison: And I thank ya'll for that, ya'll had the opportunity to.
