Kemp looks like he's in decent shape these days...........

I feel bad for the guys. One of the things that a player looks forward to in his post-NBA playing days, if he has achieved a lot, is the ceremony/retirement of his jersey. This whole situation just makes things real murky. i wouldn't want to go to OKC in front of a bunch of strangers to have my jersey retired for a team that not only no longer sports the colors, but not even the team name. That would be weird. Not only that, but the fans probably only got to see them play from a distance, if at all, so what exactly is that that they have to reminisce about? They don't remember the "good ol' days."

Uhm. NO. Point blank. No. The settlement determined that OKC could not use the Sonics logo, or history. They will basically be an expansion team without a draft. Unless I read something wrong.

Which makes a huge difference.

The answer is simply that GP and SK will have to wait. I mean if I understand the settlement correctly, OKC CAN'T retire their jerseys, because they played for the Sonics, and OKC can't recognize that.

Even if that wasn't an issue, I would use what little celebrity I had to make a protest and refuse to have my jersey retired unless its in Seattle. People will know how great he is, without having his jersey retired in another arena.

BTW, while I was looking at that Best Damn Sports Show youtube clip, I came along this:

GREAT clip.

Yeah I agree, reminds me of when I started watching the NBA in '96. Those guys were probably the most EXCITING duo in the NBA at the time, more so than Jordan-Pippen and Penny-Shaq. And yeah, I agree with their points. Why would you want your jersey retired in a city where you never played?
