Default If Lakers Could Trade Odom for Marion

If Lakers could make this trade happen, it would leave an UNREAL starting lineup (once Bynum comes back):

Fisher/Farmer
Kobe
Marion
Gasol
Bynum

damn, that would be crazy

odom grabs way too many boards and can have an equivalent scoring output.

Marion is a better rebounder . If he did get traded I'd have to be a Laker fan by default (my favorite player).

The Pros = Adds a lot more defensive presence (which the Lakers need), with 3 capable shot blockers in the front court and the 1-3 opposing positions would be nearly locked down on D. Marion can capitalize without the ball in his hands, which adds more scoring than Odom and allows more ball movement. It's pretty well known Kobe gets along good with Marion, and vice versa. Floor gets spread a more.

The Cons = No true playmaker in the lineup and I would have to root for the team that is my #1 favorite team's rival.

i agree, LO is a sick baller. But with LO in the lineup, its probably going to keep Bynum on the bench. I just thought, bringing in Marion would give Bynum the starting role and keep their front court dangerous. I would hate to see Bynum come off the bench after developing sooo much this season. I really wanted him to come to the Pacers in the beginning of the season, hes going to be one great center

Lamar's what the Lakers need now but when you have Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol healthy you're better off with Marion.

provided he can shut the **** up with regard to touches.

According to the Laker fans, Odom is the dumbest basketball player alive on earth, can't make shots, a horrible defender. Marion is a great baller who can co-exist with Kobe and Marion is also bargain at $18M a year, so this is a no brainer.

The question is, would Marion want to go to the Lakers. He doesn't like to be disrespected.

LO can play small forward. And Gasol can move over to PF with Bynum at center. LO can play small forward because he is quick enough to guard opposing small forwards and he will creat nice mismatches. It would be a sick lineup. Gasol would probably do better than LO aginst elite power forwards anyways (KG, Duncan).

IF the Lakers could trade the "3-headed Monster of Crapiness" (Luke, Fisher and Farmar) instead I'd be a much happier Lakers fan.

I remember there was this Laker homer on here once who was crapping on about Farmar being good enough to start on 20+ teams.

Sounds like your typical ISH blind Lakers homer. That's why I take very few Lakers fans seriously anymore, especially here. Jordan Farmar would not start on a SINGLE team in the NBA. He's an overrated player who can't play a lick of defense and who thinks he deserves the same shot attempts as the "Superstar" players.

I really hope the Lakers don't pick up his rookie option and either let him go or trade him to another team. He's completely worthless in the Triangle Offense.
