Default If lebron entered In 1996 draft.

would he be number 1?

lets just say you knew everything about the 1996 player's status up to today.

No, he would have been like 11. Wouldn't be producing and labeled a bust. Out of the league in two years.

In nine-six, he probably wouldn't be taken before Antoine Walker...

If a 2003 LeBron was somehow warped to the 96 draft, he'd still have gone number one. There's really only one guy who got more pre draft hype, ever... Shaq.

You're asking that if LeBron as he is now existed in some alternate 1996, would he go #1 over the also-in-their-prime versions of Kobe, Iverson, Nash etc? It's arguable, but yea, I'd have to say so.

There's never been as much hype for any other player entering a draft as there was when LeBron became eligible. Given the foreknowledge of the kind of player he is now and given that knowledge also about other players, the only player who I think could conceivably go #1 over him IN ANY DRAFT after the Shaq era would be Tim Duncan.

So yes, he would go #1 in 1996.

Seeing where Kobe went and how much swirl was around him pre-draft I'm not sure. League wasn't as receptive in taking high schoolers I think. Yes, Kobe and JO went there, but same time it was an area taking sure things in AI, Marcus, Allen, etc.

No, look at Kobe as example. The league wasnt big on taking a high schooler that early, or at least didnt feel comfortable unless he was a big.

Yeah but LeBron was such a better player in high school than Kobe in High School. Scouts would see that right away
