Dwight's Superman dunk was a dunk. It seems some people need to learn the definition of what a dunk is.

Fortunately, the person above me took care of it. Jumper? GTFO.

Default Wow Guys

i come on here and see everyone complaining on how dwight howard 2nd dunk wasn't even a dunk and the whole contest sucked yada yada . How can u guys honestly think that his superman dunk would have been better if he didn't wear a costume. The dunk contest was getting very boring to me and most fans IMO and if doing the same dunks of old but dressing up and doing original stuff is worse then just having guys dunk then the dunk contest is going to get did away with like magic was saying because most part time fans wanna be entertained. (for the record i am more than a part time fan) We should all be thanking dwight for bringing this competition back from the dead.

How is that a dunk? He didn't even tough the rim? That was a throw in. How do you dunk a donut without using your hand? Can you please tell me how you do it?

Read the prior posters definition which explains it. Even if you don't want to consider it a dunk, it was closer to a dunk than a friggin' layup or jumpshot.

More definition for you boneheads, find somewhere that says you have to touch the rim...

"A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball through the basket with one or both of his hands, then often grabs the rim shortly after the ball passes through the hoop (a dunk is still being performed if the rim is not grabbed, as long as the athlete powers the ball through the hoop manually). This is a standard field goal worth two points"

Why should I read it? I know what a dunk is and that wasn't a dunk just like a three pointer isn't a three pointer unless it's behind the line. Close enough? Are you kidding?

People who are claiming that it wasn't a dunk are mildly retarded. Melo dunks without touching the rim all the time. Keon Clark did that once and it was rated as one of the best in game dunks of the year. It wasn't a layup, and it sure wasn't a jumper, so what was it? A floater?

Oh OK, technically blah blah blah...Everyone knows what a dunk is. When did basketball turn into dodge ball?

Dwight was better...dude is like 6'11 270lbs to get hangtime like that? Sick.

Cupcake dunk would have been better if he took it off the back of the rim and lew it out while dunkin or something.

Dumb, only the gheyest of the ghey fan bois would consider that a dunk. Almost as dumb as the Sac Queens thinking they were the better team than the Lakers although they lost to them in the WCF. Using that logic the Queens should have been the NBA Champions that year.

I enjoyed both dunks (though my favorite was Dwight's off the backboard switch hands). The prop dunks aren't as cool as a brand-new dunk that doesn't involve props, but they're better than just a repeat of the same old stuff we've seen in years past.

Fun contest overall.
