Default LA Lakerrrr...uhh Phoenix Suns: 2008 NBA Champions?

Preface: And just like that, literally in a matter of days the pendulum has swung in Phavor of The Phoenix Suns! Shaq, once healthy and after weight loss from practicing with Phoenix now makes Phoenix the team to beat. Shaq will command double teams in the half court set and kick it out to Nash/Raja/Barbosa for the open 3 or, a slashing Amare Stoudemire to the hole for the jam! Or will he not make a difference because it's too late in the season for the 35 year old Center to get in shape?

Summary: I think big fella "turns back the clock" once again with all this criticism coming his way similar to when he was traded from LA, and proves why he is has been the most dominant force in the league for years. 2 year window for Shaq/Nash/Amare to do it, and comparing their frontcourt (PF/C) of Shaq/Amare > Gasol/Bynum > Duncan/Oberto > Garnett/Perkins > Ming/Landry > Boozer/Okur > Wallace/McDyess > Nowitzki/Dampier.

Advantage: With Steve Nash behind the controls of this offense, I really don't see them losing it, since they've eliminated KB24 the past 2 years. Remember, they don't need Shaq to run, only for half court offense, playoff style basketball. Phoenix Suns 2008 NBA Champions.

Sidenote: Riley is very smart. Hate to see the "Diesel" go but they weren't going to win, they've gotten ONE title out of the Shaq, it was well worth it, now you move on. I don't think they'll re-sign Shawn Marion so they'll clear BIG cap space this summer.

How this trade makes Phoenix better is beyond me. You just lost your best defender for a guy who doesnt need to be double covered anymore and exactly how is Shaq gonna lose 50 lbs mid season, what a joke.

Hahah what a retarded topic. You can not be serious.

If you are a Suns fan you kill yourself if this happens. You lose a perfect player in your system for a 300 pounder obviously playing at 50% of what he was LAST year. Oh and you owe him $40 mil after this year for two years! Jesus Christ, enjoy.

Some people dont understand basketball...Ive already talked about bout my boy Amare "iPod" Stoudemire is a horrible Post Defender elsewhere, this helps them, Marions obviously established that hes walking once his contract is done, wherever he is, because he wants more. Getting rid of Banks is even better, the guy wasnt getting played at all and moves to a team who needs a PG.

And why does how much Shaq gets paid really matter when they will make it back in revenue and Jersey Sales alone? Every one loves Shaq, except bitter Lakers fans.

You dont have one, so you can laugh. Laugh harder when Shaq breaks his hip running up and down the court or starts complaining hes not being fed the ball enough.

Exactly my point. Playoff basketball is an entirely different thing than the majority of what's being played now and clearly this is (if trade occurs), precisely a playoff, NBA Title win now move. Phoenix style of play has become a novelty, it was great in 2004-07, now it's time to win and I think in the half-court, slown down playoffs, Shaq will get them over the hurdle which is what Shawn Marion can't do for them. As I recall, I remember Marion disappearing in the playoffs.
