Default Pistons vs. Warriors Gamethread (10:30 ET)

The Pistons had trouble with the Warriors getting into the paint last season. Best chance is to slow the pace down because they are

Chauncey and McDyess are out. Maxiell is starting. That means we should see plenty of Amir too.

With Chauncey out I think we'll have problems with the PG matchup.

I would assume Flip. Really a shame that Stuckey isn't back. He should be back next week I think.

The effort level of the Pistons is terrible. I don't know how late I'll stay up to watch this garbage.

I can't believe I'm saying this about an NBA basketball player, but I think I'm better than Rip at making layups...

And that right there is the problem with Nazr. He played pretty well while he was in, and then inexplicably fouls Bierdrins for no reason. Gives the Warriors two points for no reason. And he does that kind of thing constantly, which usually negates his positive contributions.

Pistons give up 40 points in 1 quarter!

wow, that's some terrible defense. detroit just might save don nelson's job.

why does RIP still wear that stupid mask? I guess he can't ball without it. it's part of his identity now.

to be fair though, Rasheed did the same thing to the tune of two fouls in less than 12 minutes of play. Looks like tonight is the night for Sheed to record his first, or second, technical foul(s) of the season. the night is still young. i can see RIP getting one too given how his frustration must be growing.

it's pretty ridiculous for an experienced ball club like the pistons to allow Golden State to play at their blistering pace. you would think they would create their own tempo to bring this game back into reach. pistons down by 15.

pistons now down 20!

you can tell this is going to be one of those games where GS has 70 at the half and about 120 at the end of the game.

The pistons have no answer for BRANDON WRIGHT out of North Carolina.

Nah, Sheed has a different problem. If he feels like he gets pushed/shoved/fouled and the refs don't call it, he yells at the refs about it, and then fouls his opponent back and expects the refs to let it go. And of course they usually don't let it go. Sheed's problem is his temper (not exactly a newsflash).

Billups is soooo good and this game proves that. Detroit just isn't very good without Chauncey's leadership.

Pistons cut the lead to 13 at the half. That's about the best case scenario considering what a disaster that half was.

*sidenote* Night and day with the announcers tonight as opposed to last night. The Warriors guys are knowledgable.
