When did Boozer become this super great player? He played great last year before that he was injured and potential never reached. How long was he in the league? How long has Gasol been producing compared to Boozer?

Were people saying Boozer > Gasol before last year? NO!

Bandwagon anyone?

Last year's playoffs is when I would say he went from good to great. The Rockets series in particular showcased how unstoppable on offense he is.

This year so far his numbers are simply amazing, superstar quality stats. Defense isn't great but it is improving. That block on Timmy in the WCF seems to have motivated him to challenge shots more and to move his feet better.

Still think Duncan, KG, Brand, and Dirk are better 4s. Not Gasol anymore, though.

Hem, I think this is not fair.

Boozer has better numbers than Gasol, but with a roster:

D. Will - Brewer - Boozer - Kirilenko - Okur.

You can't fouus your defense on Boozer, of course. And with a roster:

Lowry - Miller - Gay - Gasol - Milicic.

You can, and you MUST, focus your defense on Gasol.

It's not same playing Utah than Memphis, people, don't forget that.

I won't say Gasol >< Boozer, but... just compare their teams... specially the PGs.
Memphis guards are not exactly known for their passing skills and unselfishness.

I honest to God don't watch enough grizzly games. But Boozer is quite the beast on the boards and I always value rebounders.

I agree to some degree on both counts.

It sometimes looks as if Boozer just doesn't give a damn on defense, but I guess he has to save stamina somwhere, doesn't he. But he could at least make some placebo contribution.
And it's not only Deron that makes Boozer shine, it's Okur, too. Okur draws out his man and gives Booze room under the basket to operate.

And on topic: current Boozer > current Gasol. Not by much, but that's how it is.

Same here. IMO if you swap gasol and boozer, the jazz do better. Gasol just does so much on the court (points, boards, assists, blocks, defense in general, etc) and Boozer is almost completely limited to offense and rebounding. TBH, he just seems like a rich mans wilcox to me.
