Default Is Elton Brand a top 7 player?

The teams he's been on hasn't been the best but his numbers are ridiculous. He isnt a chucker, whinny, off the court problem, on the court attention whore, etc... Why is he never mentioned as top 7 or maybe top 10 material.

Hell no, not even close...top 10? Arguable, he's no better then say Carlos Boozer...I knew he'd be a consistant big when he got drafted out of Duke.

He's fundamentally sound and isn't flashy which is why he isn't as high on people's radar...but there is no way he's one of the seven best players in this league.

Because there are just too many players in the league better than him that do more to help their teams win. Sure Elton fills up his stat sheet every night but that is about it. He doesnt improve his teammates that much and doesnt lead his team to that many wins. He just isnt a franchise type player that you can build around and when you talk about top 7 or 10 players in the league those are the franchise players.

Why would you say that? He certainly played like it a few years ago.

He's obviously not top 7, because the NBA's top 7 is all but set in stone.

Kobe, Duncan, Dirk, Nash, Wade, LeBron, KG

Those are the 7. I might put him as high as 12-14 though. Not sure.

Brand is possibly the 6th best PF in the league when hes playing great, but hes always consistently 20/9 and thats maybe 8th

Bosh
Garnett
Dirk
Duncan
Boozer
Dwight
David West
Jefferson
are all ahead of him and thats just off the top of my head

uhh no. How fast people forget...david west and al jefferson over him? Howard and Bosh arent better than him either (granted I'd rather take Howard as my building block but currently hes not better).

Mate, Elton has averaged over 10 boards a game 7 out of his 9 seasons, i think we can call him a consistent 20/10, sounds much better.

A lot of people are forgetting that Elton is one of the best 2 way players. He has premiere post offense and premiere post defense.

There is no way this cat is top 7 in the L, but hs is deffinently top 5 PF and top 15 overall...

Not top 7 player but a top 7 big man.
Players better than him:
Lebron, Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, Nash, Kidd, Wade, Yao, etc. That's already eight.

He has had one year where he has led his team to success and that was probably his career year. Sure he is a top 15 player but I dont even think he could scratch the top 10.

How much better does a 20 pt 10 reb 2 blks 2 asst shoot 50% from the field has to do to make his team better?
Isnt that what a guy who wants to win do? What more does he have to do to be considered greater?
Isnt his numbers comparable to Duncan and Nowitzki? He plays both ends of the floor?
If you are on a bad team you are on a bad team he does his part to help them win? Am I missing something here?

Shareef abdul Rahim put up numbers like this for ages, and he was hardly even a top 30 player during that time id say, stats are deceiving...

With Elton, when he is healthy, the clips are always a chance to win....
