what does this say about the supposed superiority of the west? One of the weaker east teams (IK IK too early to tell) came in and took both games from 2 of the top 4-6 teams in the west. It has been argued here (as well as in the media) than any of the top 6 teams in the west would dominate the east (even Utah ). So why did a crappy east team come in and beat 2 of those teams? Anybody got any good ideas besides "it was only one game they couldnt do it in a series"?
These teams aren't fully prepared. Notice the Hawks worst game was against the Nets... The Nets are one of the 4 teams that the Hawks have played that likely didn't come into the game overlooking them.
Atlanta is no longer one of the weaker teams in the East, they aren't a contender but they may make the playoffs.
Suns were playing without Amare, and we all know they have little depth.
I'm not making excuses it was a really good game both played well but those are two factors in the win.
Phx is killing me with this no Amare crap. They went to the WCF without Amare. Besides, we were playing without our starting center in Zaza and our starting pg Speedy Claxton.

Which is why I stated that Atlanta is a much improved team and that Stoudemire not being there was only a possible excuse.
I really hate Joe Johnson. They have players already better than him(Josh Smith), and this dude is pretending he has nobody around him and how the organization needs to step up. When did JJ ever reach the status of thinking he was Kobe?
I like the Hawks this year, but hard to cheer for them with this fool on theyre roster
ps not to mention hes a selfish gun and highly overrated.
any team, no matter how bad, can beat any other team on any given night. it's the consistency over 82 games that separates the good teams from the bad.
Out of the five years that I've been closely following this Phoenix team, I'd have to say it is one of the weakest. They have little interior size and consequently are getting hammered on the boards.
Yes, Amare is out, but this knee injury just isn't going to go away after a few days rest. He is going to plauged throughout the year IMO, and Diaw isn't a inside presence and is a poor rebounder in his place.

I actually like Horford and Law better. Law doesn't do too much, but Horford should be starting.
their offense is in a state of flux without a true point guard running the show, so their scoring abilities get hampered down by defensive clubs and let loose to run wild against lackadaisical defensive teams (Dallas played down to the Hawks, Pistons must have also played down to them, and Phoenix was incapable of playing defense and crashing the boards without Amare)
suns and mavs both started like 0-8 last year. suns are coming off a back to back without stoudamire. that win doesnt mean anything, hawks still suck. yea the hawks are missing zaza and speedy, that actually helps them
