Default Tyrus Thomas

Whats everyone's thoughts about him this year ? heard in the offseason he has worked on his mid range and post game. looked good in the summer leagues but will he get minutes ?

when he did play he has some potential (boards, blks, fg% )

is he worth picking up ?

Unfortunately he's on a packed Chicago frontline and he really can only play power forward. With Deng eating up minutes at SF, Nocioni is going to be called to get minutes at PF along with newly acquired Joe Smith, Tyrus Thomas and maybe even some Joakim Noah.

He'll produce good numbers when given minutes but it'll probably take an injury for him to get more than 25 mpg early in the season.

i agree. there's so many pfs fighting for some minutes. he'll get prolly 15mpgs but they wouldnt draft noah w/o the intention of playing him

He looked completely lost a couple times last year when he got meaningful minutes, but he did get progressively better. I can't see Joe Smith eating up all the minutes at PF so Thomas will have a chance to really contribute.

If they rotate Tyrus/Smith/Noah pretty regularly, I'm thinking something like 9 points 6 rebounds per game for Tyrus is believable.

I think Thomas' biggest asset will be his shot-blocking ability though..
