So are Kobe and Tmac the same guy but Kobe got Shaq?
Are Hakeem and Ewing the same guy but Hakeem had a better cast?
After everything Duncan has done when it mattered, from the near quad double in title clincher of 03 to the 40 15 he dropped in game 7 vs Mavs last year to getting nearly 10 blocks and stopping probably 30 points in the paint in the clinching game vs Suns this year, how in the f**** can you say they are the same guy and Duncan has only been about 25 times more sucessful SOLELY because he got lucky and went to a good team??
And for the record, if you go by pure talent, Duncan never had as much talent around him as guys like Dirk, Kobe, Nash has had, and probably not as much as what KG had in 04 or what Iverson has currently. You guys are making these BS "Duncan has a great cast" claims without looking deeper. In 03, Duncan won with an aging Robinson who was like a 13 and 10 guy and rookie Ginobili on a bad ankle. Tony Parker was so raw then he got benched in the 4th quarter in favor of Speedy Claxton. In 04 when DRob retired the Spurs were supposed to be in rebuilding mode that year and still won 54 games and were a contender. Duncan has won no less than 52 games EVERY YEAR OF HIS CAREER despite 2007 being the only year you can say he has "two all star caliber" players around him (Parker wasn't All Star caliber in 05 and neither him and Manu were in 03).
So really, you guys dismissing Duncan because "he has a great cast" is the second weakest argument on ISH behind the Kobe fans trying to close the gap between him and Jordan.
