the knicks have nothing the lakers need and kobe wants to play for a contender, he wants to go someplace where it won't be up to him to be the team leader and he won't have to carry the load

fixed...Kobe wants to have legit group of players around him. He doesnt want to have to score 50 a night anymore so they can win.
I just hope this current team becomes that.

So Cleveland, San Antonio and where else?
Of course he wants to carry the load and be the man, he just wants a supporting cast that fits his game perfectly so that he can thrive and still put up great numbers.
Kobe deserves to be in Chicago and the Bulls deserve a a bonafide supernova like Kobe Bean Bryant. Kobe is the greatest player on the planet and the Chicago Bulls organization are the greatest organization in the NBA right now. PERFECT match if you ask me.
Hopefully Kobe will force the Lakers hand into trading him by NOT reporting to training camp in a few weeks. Heck if I was Kobe, I'd show up and half-ass it until they trade me. That way he'll still get paid.

chicago is good, but he'd be in the same boat..they would have to trade too much talent to get him...that's one thing i'm sure kobe realizes now, is that he wants to play along side another star level player, but any team that goes after kobe is going to have to give up major talent to get him....
and to sizzle, the lakers did commit to him, they traded arguably the best big man in the league to keep him happy and then signed him to a 130 million dollar contract, before knowing what was going to happen in Colorado...
as jerry west says, kobe wanted to be the team leader and now the onus is on him to be that person, and be the face of the franchise even in the tough times

Lakers committed to the money Kobe brings. Shaq was done with this place no matter what...he wasnt getting the 25-30 mil per year no matter what he did. Buss let Shaq go and locked Kobe and the $$$ for 6 yrs.
But until now, all signs point to Lakers committing to the money Kobe brings. They want him becaues hes the premier superstar in this league. If you commit to someone to build a team around him, do you draft a 17 yr old project? Do you hesistate to trade him for just about everyone? They had Kobe carrying the team to the playoffs and they're just taking it easy giving Bynum time to develop while Kobe brings in the $$$. Kobe spoke up about it...organization said they'll accomadate, nothing happened.
As fans, we can only hope that the visions of this FO are true and that this roster improves becaues if it doesnt, if they go through the same defensive lapses again, if they go through the inconsistent shooting again...and most improtantly if Bynum doesnt improve immensely...it will all be gone. Kobe will be gone, Phil is gone, and Bynum's trade value
