thats what that spoiled self entitled brat gets. its payback for his little world tour in the media when the stupid ass baby cried about how the Lakers weren't treating him right after they stuck with him through the rape trial, picking him over Shaq (one had to go) and giving him a fat ass contract. If he had really cared about winning so much he would have gone to the Clippers where he could have had Brand next to him.

for one Kobe didnt need the lakers to stick by him...And They didnt stick by him for any noble reason, it was in there best interest...

They thought picking him over Shaq was the right move....

Kobe will still have time to win a ship after he opts out and goes to play for the minimum allowed for him somewhere...

If Kobe takes less money and goes to a decent team and wins a title then he will seen as a player who cant carry a team to the promised land???

You cant penalize someone for taking less money to play for a decent team..He is still gonna be the man on team and prob win finals MVP

he could in theory sign for less and play for the lakers allowing them to axquire someone...but there is no way I would trust Jerry Buss or Mitch..They would just give Bynum the max and make it his team starting next year and begin rebuilding

Don't think we would have been able to deal for Kittles as we would have used the money on Bryant, but we could most likely have Richardson at the backup offguard pending we would have matched his offer sheet with Phoenix, and don't think we would have kept Moore, and still have dealt Wilcox, along with losing Simmons, and waiving Brunson.i wonder how it would've looked present day...hmm:

Petro was the 05 draft, Diaz was the 2nd rounder in 06, wouldn't have gotten Paul Davis, due to still having Ely, which leads us to having one 06 2nd. Wilcox dealt for an 06 1st as well imo, which is why Boone is on the roster.
But that digresses from the point off the topic. The answer is simple, Celtics seem to want to win, while on the other hand, Lakers FO seems content with just making the PO's and cashing in.

Celtics have been in the lottery for what? the past ten years? So they had a lot more bargaining chips and expiring contracts. If the Lakers had more higher draft picks to deal and ended up with nothing then you'd have a point.
