Found this whilst browsing you tube, and it still hurts as much today as it did the day it happened, over 9 years ago.
Everyone can b!tch about whether or not Jordan pushed off, but I can live with that play because you can't expect the refs to make that call at that big of a moment.
However, these two blown calls still get me. Would the Jazz have won the game if Bavetta hadn't cocked these two calls up? Maybe, maybe not. All I know is that's a five point swing in a game that was decided by one point.
On the plus side, the Spanish commentary is hilarious.
I didn't watch the vid you provided but I assume you are mentioning the Jazz shot, that was quite clearly shot in time but was called as a violation. Then Harper's shot that was extremely clear that he did not get it off in time, but was still allowed. The Jazz definitly got screwed on both calls, this is why video footage should be available for the refs.
you guys got utterly boned on those two calls. it's funny because a lot of announcers wouldn't have mentioned them. these days you get guys who agree with every officiating decision, but bob costas had the shots replayed in slow mo and explained to the audience what it meant in such a tight game. very good game calling.
The back-to-back Bulls/Jazz series were just very weird for me. It pitted my two favorite players of all-time, Jordan and Stockton. I really didn't know who to root for. I wanted more rings for MJ, but I wanted to see the mailman/Stockton/Sloan to get one as well.
