Why don't more guys donate $$$$?

All these NBA guys are making heaping loads of mula, why the hell won't they donate huge chunks. You hear about a guy donating some amount of thousands, but guys who are hauling in these ridicolous amounts of millions(on top of their endorsement deals) why aren't they donating like a million or something around that? Or even higher?

A thousand dollars is alot to donate. Donating millions would be crazy. Even I wouldn't do that.


Guys like Shaq would probably donate. In the words Ewing," We superstars make alot of money, but we also spend our money most of the time".

besides, I don't think it really matters. NBA players are too damn ignorant to know how to donate anyway. have you kept tabs on the donations Melo has made? he's donated like 4 million bucks but they're to crappy places. like... some youth center in Baltimore or something. gets a million bucks. you joking? one youth center? I mean honestly...

$13million a year.

after taxes $6.5 million a year.
would you really feel good about donating let's say $ 2million away?

wow. do you realize a million bucks in construction doesnt get you what it used to? not as much as you think. as far as why they dont give more, their business and plus they give a hefty donation to the IRS every year plus they probably have those things called relatives and friends they want to help.

I don't know how it works in the US, but here you can deduct donated money from the taxes you have to pay.

How do you know how much they are donating? you only see announced contributions. you dont know how much in total 100% that even one player donated. Dont make an assumption, and then whine off your assumption.

Because they worked hard for it and shouldnt have to donate it all the time.

It's still a nice thing to do to donate to other people but it's their money and they worked their ass off to get to the NBA.
