Re: Lakers contemplating Luther Head for Brian Cook
Contemplation regarding a trade is one thing but approval from the other team is another...
Does a straight up, one for one, Luther Head for Brian Cook deal sound overly appealing to the Houston Rockets ? Highly Unlikley {I certainly wouldn't pay that offer much mind}
IMO, if the Lakers desire to acquire Luther Head,
their gunna have to package an offer that contains more value then just that of Brian Cook...
Re: Lakers contemplating Luther Head for Brian Cook
This is an area of concern for the Laker franchise right now. In essence, they really do not contain too many marketable peices that other teams/GMs around the league find all that appealing...
Re: Lakers contemplating Luther Head for Brian Cook
While Cook is a good spot up shooter (and that's about it!), I think what we are seeing here is the Mike James effect more than anything. Now that Houston has James, Head is clearly expendable.

I'd agree with that statement if this was coming from an LA paper, but it's from Houston beat writers. This makes it seem as if the offer has been made and the ball is in the Lakers court (hence the contemplation on their part). There definitely could be other pieces involved, and there is also the chance this is just BS.
Re: Lakers contemplating Luther Head for Brian Cook
They played together in college, now being traded for each other. I always thought Luther was the perfect player for the triangle. He can shoot, play defense, and do a little play making. He'd be fine in the triangle offense.
Re: Lakers contemplating Luther Head for Brian Cook
If I was in Kupchak's spot, Head would already be on a plane to L.A. There is no downside to this trade. What exactly is Brian Cook bringing to the table that will be missed?
Anything (ANYTHING) Head brings with him is 100% gain without loss. And I think he'd fit the triangle better more than a lot of point guards around the league.
