Default Re: Bulls and Lakers Talking?

I tried to come up with a trade but couldn't come up with one that worked financially. There really isn't a way these 2 teams alone can make this type of trade there needs to be a 3rd team involved. I really can't find a way to make a kobe to chicago work a team who is under the cap as the 3rd team is the only way I see it happening.

you are correct. that trade would not work.
If the trade happens before July 1st, then Big Ben HAS to be included.
After July 1st, Bulls could use Noci and/or PJBrown as S&Ts.

Damn! If Paxson can get this done that would be amazing. Getting Kobe while keeping Deng, Thomas, Sefolosha and Hinrich?? Wow. That Bulls team would win the east next season.

I don't believe you can combine S&T players in this type of trade, making it that much harder to man a deal work financially.

I'll burn Staples to the ground if this trade happens.
So what the f*ck do we get for the best player in the world?
Gordon (big whoop), and Nocioni...and some garbage late round picks, WOW...thanks but no thanks Chicago.

Deng, Gordon, Thomas and 1st round pick, or don't bother...but I know we got Cupcake at the helm so that's why I wouldn't be surprised if we get this garbage for Kobe.

LOL your acting like the Lakers really have a say in the matter, you guys are lucky that your not getting a VC like return in this trade for the "best player in the world".

The Lakers have some leverage in this matter because Kobe is under contract for 2 years......They don't have to trade him now.

The Lakers should demand Kobe waive 3 teams from his no-trade clause before wasting any time. Tell him he has no say in what players are involved. I am actually getting pretty excited about this. Even if we keep Kobe for 2 more years, all that money that will come off the books? Plus we got Kwame's contract ending at the end of the season. Things aren't looking that bad.

Not really, what are they going to do force him to sit out. People forget that this is a players league now if a front office ever did something forcing a star player like Kobe sit out a long period of time or just ignoring his demands it will be very damaging to the organization league wide. Would players really want to play for a organization that treats its players in such a fashion?

Exactly People seem to forget this!!! The way Kobe has diminished his trade value for the Lakers they could decide to for a little pay back and just bench his ass for the next 2 years. Make him watch the young talent like Bynum and Farmar develop around Odom and use the # 19 to sign the best SG available to replace him. This would mean no more exposure for Kobe and then when he opts out since he hasnít played much in the last couple seasons his value would probably have tanked by then.

(Not like it would happen but it could if they wanted to be vindictive which Kobe is giving them reason to)

I don't think the Lakers will accept the trade if Deng isn't included while Deng is the only untouchable in the Bulls lineup. I believe the Suns are the front-runner in getting Kobe. They can offer Marion, Barbosa and one of their 1st round picks for Kobe.

That would really be damaging to the Lakers around the league it would be suicide for the lakers to even try something like that.
