I don't why LA goes for it unless they get Deng or Hinrich.
Could be because you have a guy that publicly says he wants to get traded and it's known that he wants to go to Chicago (the new tape). Plus, unlike other players he has a chance to select where he wants to go because of his contract and so on. Those are things that hurt his trade value big time. Bulls has the upper hand.
But still, I don't believe this scenario is true. I'm sure Lakers will wait until they got at least a little bit more.
No Deng, no deal. Gordon? Dude's a midget. He's good in Chicago because they really have no one else to step up but Deng has to be included. I don't care how many picks, that's rape. We're trying to get rid of a chucker not trade for a less talented chucker in Gordon.
If im the Bulls i might include Kirk instead of Ben...Either guys would be nice playing with Kobe...Ben would get tons of open jumpers and opporunities..Id rather keep Kirk but I would trade him if need be..
Kirk
Kobe
Deng
Tyrus
Wallace
thats too good for Chicago...They would be sick next year.. Although could Gordon play 1. Because if they trade Kirk Gordon could be a big shot maker for them when Kobe gets doubled...
Don't the salaries have to match? Can someone who understands the trade rules and contracts tell us whether a package like Gordon/Sefalosha/Thomas for Kobe would work in terms of salary? Aren't the latter two still on their rookie contracts? I don't think they make nearly as much money as Kobe does, even combined.
This trade would make more sense if the Lakers got to keep their draft pick this year. Paxon should be willing to give up a couple of draft picks to become a real contender.
Then the Bulls should re-sign PJ for front court depth, and bring in someone good with the MLE.
some of the trade scenarios you guys are thinking up. Gordon, Duhon, Nocioni and a resigned PJ Brown? For Kobe freaking Bryant? Even the Shaq deal was better than that, and the Lakers had way less leverage for that. Lakers aren't going to deal Kobe unless they get the PERFECT deal and one with Chicago would HAVE to include a package built around Deng or Heinrich. Even then i think Buss would be hesitant. He just raised ticket prices and nobody is paying top dollar in LA to go watch Luol Deng. There isn't as much urgency to trade Kobe like there was Shaq. Buss will wait this thing out.
