Shaq only had 2 Legendary seasons during his career
As great as Shaq has been, realistically, he's only had 2 pantheonic seasons in his career. That being the '00-'01 and '01-'02 seasons. You can go ahead and argue about stats from other seasons that may appear better than these particular seasons, but that's really beside the point here. Even his MVP season in 2000, he wasn't at his absolute best. I still looked at him as a relatively semi-dimensional dunker who got away with his size. In fact, he was about 30 pounds overweight that season. So unlike the other greats: Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kareem, etc all of whom have a long string of legendary seasons to argue their claim, Shaq is excluded from this group.

Yeah, he's had a crappy career, he hasn't even averaged 50 and 20 any season

Even if he didnt put up amazing stats, only his presence made difference on the floor. Teams double teamed him and always had an eye on him when he was in the post, and there for other players on his team could a little bit easier get to the rim because they didnt want to leave shaq alone. And Shaq always passed out the ball from low post to his shooters for open looks. So yes he did have a legendary career and even if he didn't put up amazing stats he was still good.

Exactly.
And lol @ the suggestion that Shaq didn't put up amazing numbers (and I'm talking year-in, year-out here, not just 2000 and 2001). The only player in the last 25 years who put up better numbers than him consistently was Jordan. That's it.
Re: Shaq only had 2 Legendary seasons during his career
seriously, Shaq averaged 23/14/2 4 blocks 1 steal on 56% shooting his ROOKIE year. That season alone is legendary, especially considering he was a rookie.

99-00-01-02-03 were 5 seasons in which he was a monster statistically. Between 93-98 he has a few very close to monstrous seasons as well. Other than Jordan only Robinson's peak (statistically) comes close to Shaq.
I guess when you're so dominant, after a period of time people start to take it for granted.
