The more I think about this the more I like it, provided the C's can get their hands on Magloire. Magloire is almost the perfect KG complimentary front court player. He's got a big body, can rebound and block a few shots. Plays okay defense, isn't a total goon on offense like the Kandi man.

When you add in the fact that McHale is one of the worst GM's in pro sports, well, you see where I'm coming from.

Minny fans should LOVE this idea, but also realize that it just won't happen.

The payoff would be KG opting out and taking less money in a year. Yet, even with his salary next season, we'd still be able to field a good enough club to compete deep into the playoffs out East... We've done the youth movement thing to death. I'd be more than happy to start winning now. I think this trade helps both teams, but would help us more in the immediate future. However, with KG opting out and the salary space we would have, we'd still be able to aquire another star or other young talented players for the future... I'll tell you one thing, I'd get season tickets in a heart beat...

I have a lot of confidence in Jefferson playing at the same level or higher, but when you can get your hands on KG you need to raise questions like that. There are a lot of guys that have breakout seasons then turn to mediocre, though they are generally playing for contracts.

Anyway, what would you think of a Magloire and KG pairing in Boston?

I have faith in Perkins. Last year he was held back by plantar fasciitis but played anyway because the team needed players badly. He's a soldier. This offseason he's gotten even stronger while dropping 10 pounds. I don't mine idea of him starting.

He's much more than 'not a total goon on offense'. The guy's got a very solid post game, and one that would work extremely well high/low with KG's midrange play. I like it a lot too.

Don't get your hopes up though, he's coming to Washington. :)

i'm not a real big magloire guy. i don't think he brings the energy every night. but i do think he works next to kg, because kg plays well next to a big, physical guy who can occupy an opposing center on the glass. he'll also bang and get you low post points which is something kg's not a real specialist at. the high-low combo would actually work pretty well.

I expect Al Jeff to get better as well. I don't think his improvement this season was a fluke by any means... I see it more as a natural progression. He's a hard worker, so I can see him reaching his potential in a few season.

The Great Gordon says Boston is stupid if they made this trade, Gordon believe young celts should stay pat and trade overrated piece of garbage Paul Pierce for a bag of basketballs, Gordon believe Pierce is holding down the Celts team, The Great Gordon is out.

I wouldn't mind bringing Magliore in, but to me he's not vital. He got 6.5 points and 6 boards last season...he's ok, but a lot of bigs could match that.

Default Re: Chad Ford-Boston/Minny Garnett Deal

It seems like too much if you ask me.

Shaq ->
Odom, Butler, B.Grant's huge contract

AI ->
A.Miller, J.Smith, 2 #1's in the 20's

VC ->
'Zo, E.Williams, A.Williams, 2 middle 1st rounders

Granted these guys wanted out and basically forced trades, but I don't see why the asking price for KG is SO much higher.

Al Jeff
#5
Green

is alot to give up.

Ratliff
is the filler necessary.

Telfair
Adds nothing to this trade.

If I'm the C's, I do everything to keep Al. Jeff, and add something more if necessarry. If it is Al Jeff, then I try to keep the #5 pick.

Otherwise it seems as though the C's are sacrificing their depth and their entire future on the assumption KG, PP along with a paper thin roster can lead them anywhere. And if anything should happen injury wise to PP or KG this team is probably the worst in the league.

^Give us Etan Thomas then. You can keep Haywood.

What team would take a gamble on Haywood? I have a feeling the Rockets may try get their hands on him.

I think the Celtics have to retain either Green or the 5th pick (I know Al would have to go), but they're giving up a bit too much.
