between game 6 and game 7, there were a lot of interview done by kerr, and if you listened to him, he kept on talking about how the game wasn't really as important as the media made it out to be, and that, at the end of the day, they still made a lot of money and they all had good lives so they should be content with whatever the outcome would had been.

while he's not wrong on that basketball is just a game, he did throw out a lot of beta-level quotes that questioned his competitive drive, as if he was already settling and making excuses that it was okay to lose. maybe it was his way of trying to not put too much pressure on his guys or himself, but it's game 7 of the nba finals. it's DO OR DIE, not DO OR ENJOY YOUR MONEY IN THE BANK IF YOU LOSE. i thought his perspective was pretty weak for a professional coach.
