Curry: 0x Finals MVP
Impact Should Be Most Important Aspect When Handing out MVP
And LeBron still has more impact on team basketball and wins than anyone in the history of the NBA. Curry is a beast, great player. But take him off the Warriors and they're still in the WCF, with a chance for the Finals. Hell, he was their 3rd option in the Finals last year and they still won the series Take LeBron off this current Cavs team and they are maybe the 10th seed. Take LeBron off the Cavs last year and they're in the running to pick Towns. Unanimous MVP tho? Nah. He gets these votes because 1. People were tired of voting for LeBron. 2. The average sports fan can relate to him because of his girlish frame and ugly spouse. He inspires them they can be like him one day if they work on their trick shots, and join a team of multiple hall of fame level talents. I get it. But Curry just doesn't have that impact of The King.

Meltdown. Curry was unanimous and this fool thinks his differing opinion is better than each of the 131 votes. You are so mad right now.

Why didn't LeBron's "impact" propel his team to a 73 win season?

Physical conference. He doesn't have the opportunity to play a bunch of finesse-pseudo Euro-ball teams most nights. Not to mention Curry plays with wayyyyyy more talent.

OP's not wrong. Curry was the best player of the season, but it's hard to say he's the most valuable when this team without him would be in the same place minus maybe 10 wins. The NBA should just rename the award "Player of the Year" to avoid confusion.

They aren't a 60 win team without Curry. But yes they are still a legit playoff team without Curry with between 50-55 wins.

Cavs have an all-time stacked team, the Warriors are Curry and a few great role players, and discarded garbage the Cavs didn't want

All true, and yet the feeling remains that this Warriors team is strong without Curry and the Cavs aren't without LeBron.
