if you play small ball against other teams like the spurs, they will eat you alive in the paint. duncan will have a grand buffet in rebounds and points if they put 6'6" defenders on him. the mismatch is a joke. but somehow dallas can't capitalize on that difference. instead they're just getting outrunned AND even outmuscled by the smaller dudes.

If San Antoniuo was coached by Avery they would lose.. and Duncan would get shutdown on the post.. because Avery's offense is terrible..

Duncan isn't a soft little ***** like Dirk, if you put a SG on him he'll go wild. the Suns do what the Warriors do only better and more reliably and nobody on GS stands a chance at guarding Amare who, again, attacks unlike Dirk.
besides, they play the Rockets second round, who are winning the title, so obviously they're going to lose that series.

The Mavericks under Avery Johnson were the best regular season team in the league. 65 wins, and the best combined record in the league from the past two seasons. He coached them past the Spurs to the NBA Finals, in his first season no less. And all of this was just because of 'motivation' and not 'coaching'?!?! **** outta here ...

That's bullsh*t and a clear shot at Nelly, the coach that "doesn't know a lick of defense". People just don't understand the difference between high scoring teams and bad defensive teams. Is he a bad defensive coach this year holding Avery's "AWESOME coaching ability" to sub 40% shooting every game? Is that why he's held them under their scoring average in two games already?

i agree to an extent, the man has problems dealing with this golden state team and can go with a quicker lineup which he hasn't done enough. of playing the jet and harris together. but let's not forget, this series isn't over. it's 2-1.

The Warriors dont play exactly like Phx so that not true. They run but have better defenders and different style of offense...I think they can beat the Suns because when they play they can just post any1 Nash guards up at any time... Last time I saw them play Nash was soo pissed because he couldnt guard any1 on the Warriors not even Matt Barnes.
