Ok, well then you could say that the team collectively is sucking ass, including Dirk. Because a guy with teammates who suck ass could not win 67 games by himself.

It'll be pretty darn hilarious if GS beats Dallas and Dirk gets his MVP at home. I don't think an MVP's team has ever gotten knocked out of the 1st round. I do know that some players whose teams didn't make the playoffs won the award, but never has an MVP's team lost in the 1st round. Dirk better pick up his play because getting the MVP while sitting home will be one of the more embarassing moments in NBA history.

They weren't even doubling him last game. He's in full on choke mode and they know it. Only way he can get himself to the ft line is flopping on off the ball plays. And stop getting blocked by Stephen Jackson.

i can't envision every non-dirk mavs player putting in nothing for another game. whats really killing the mavs now is their lack of back movement, especially josh howard, who is just an enormous black hole right now. its not a big deal vs traditional teams like the spurs, but it kills the mavs vs a run and gun team like GS

they were doubling him most of the time. the problem is no one else can make a shot, stackhouse, george can't make a damn thing, the perimeter defense is awful and the ball stops as soon as Jho gets it.

They weren't doubling because Avery hads just given up on posting Dirk.. Avery is incompetent at runnign a psot offesne effcetively.. he can't get his players to hit open jumpers.. so Avery's solution is to just have everyone play one on one on the perimter.. so all the Warriors do is zone them and dare them to shoot from the perimeter.

Basically what you have is if you took the Golden State Warriors team and tried to have them play like the San Antonio Spurs.. The Warriors would lose every game.. the Mavs will lose every game to any decent healthy team..

And the reaosn why is that the Warriors don't have the personnel to play that way.. they only have on good bigman in Dirk and no coinsistent perimeter shooters.. they just have inefficient scorers.. this is what GS has too.. but in Nellie's system it works..

Dirk will win MVP because of what happened in the regular season but when Dallas get eliminated in the first round...it will show how big of a joke the MVP award has become.
