Re: If Dallas Loses The Series Against Golden State...
I don't ever want to see anyone use anything LeBron does in this 1st round as an example of anything. He's playing the 7th seeded team that is missing both of its All-Stars. He might as well be playing the Washington Generals
Re: If Dallas Loses The Series Against Golden State...
I agree that if the Mavs lose to GS Dirk doesn't deserve the MVP regular season or not.
But it should NOT go to Steve Nash.
I know Nash is cute and adorable, and he just makes you want to rub your nipples. But him having an MVP cheapens the award, him having 2 makes the award a joke, him having 3? Just get rid of the NBA altogether.
Re: If Dallas Loses The Series Against Golden State...
I wonder what kind of adjustments the Mavs would have to make in the offseason...they need some more athletic bigs I think, Dampier and Diop don't cut it.
Re: If Dallas Loses The Series Against Golden State...
Remember last year? Lakers up 3-1, and Nash was handed the MVP trophy. It was the same thing, it was even worse because Kobe was another leading MVP candidate.
Just because Dallas is down 1-2 and Dirk has been playing below his average doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve the award. That's ridiculous.
Dirk is a proven playoff performer, so far he's had one bad series + 1 bad game + 1 average.
Re: If Dallas Loses The Series Against Golden State...
i don't understand why everyone is overreacting. all dallas needs is to win game 4 and they are back in the driver's seat.
GS is just a bad matchup but they won't win the series.

it's a whole new season and there's no Kobe or Nash in this Dallas and G State series
Re: If Dallas Loses The Series Against Golden State...
I'm sure it's unprecedented, but if the Mavericks do lose I'd like to see him decline accepting it. Because it means he would have to get it pregame of another series like San Antonio-Phx (which features two other MVP candidates), I'd like to hear him say something like
"I'm grateful to all the voters for giving me this prestigious award. Obviously, I would also like to thank my coach, teammates, and the great fans of the city of Dallas for this amazing regular season. However, the season obviously didn't end how we would have liked and because of that I feel like I am unable to accept this award. Obviously, he only trophy I want to bring back to Dallas is the Larry O'Brien. Definitely, I'd like to pass this award on to my buddy Steve Nash for the 3rd straight year. He deserves it, obviously."

I said Warriors in five before the series started, it will be in five.

OH wait Lebron will have a HOF performance tomorrow against the Wizards.
Did I mention Nash or Dirk in my post anywhere? But, Nash and Dirk are on the 2 best teams in the NBA, while Kobe barely made the playoffs. Winning matters in the MVP award.
And even if Lebron has a Hall Of Fame performance tommorrow (he won't), its only because Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler are sitting the series out.
