To sum up my thoughts on Kobe in Nash (I feel like weighing in):
Nash has a great supporting cast, has an awesome coach and a great system. He plays smart basketball and is an awesome passer/ shooter. Probably the best at both of those categories in the league (maybe Allen, Dirk or Redd gets shooting).
Kobe has an average team (not as bad as people say though), and a great coach who is great at maximising player potential. Kobe has a lot more physical gifts, but does not posses the same level of basketball knowhow as Nash. This being said, Kobe is a much better player, but if they were traded one for one, both teams would be worse off.
If MVP was about ability: Kobe wins
But it's not, it's about being the best player on the best team... so Nash, Dirk and Duncan own the award.
