Chances are, Amare and Nash will get theirs not matter what, but if you take away Marion's offense, his defense, rebounding, and energy also go with it. You take away A LOT of the little things the Suns depend on to win series.

Amare averaged 37 and 10 on Duncan in that series, and Nash a good series, yet they still lost 4-1.

If there is one thing I can appreciate about Shawn Marion, it's his defense. He is easily the most versatile defender in the league. He can, and has guarded every postion but center. He blocks shots well for his size, and he is always top 5 in steals.

ok your right but Marion is still garbage in a half-court game, which is a big reason why they get owned in the playoffs by the Spurs. If the Suns cant fast break and run, Marion doesnt get involved and that takes him out of the game.

That's what I don't understand. I also think his defense is overrated yet everyone say he's a DPOY candidate.
But everytime I watch someone has something that Marion can't defend.

Kobe has quickness, Odom has length, most PF's have size and strength.

So, who exactly does Marion defend efficently?
Because every time I watch him it does look like he can hold his own for a bit but then he just gets outmatched by either speed, length, power, whatever it is..

He's a great rebounder and very energetic, I will give him that.
