Fire Flip! Bring back LB!
that's understandable (and tough to argue) for a black-hearted pistons fan.

lb did a great job with them. i didn't think carlisle deserved to be let go from detroit because he had done a great job himself, and might have actually been able to make the jump to the finals with the addition of rasheed, but you definitely can't second guess the job that brown did there.

"Losing the ear of players as time goes on" happens with pretty much every coach. The same group of players doesn't respond to the same coach forever.

Rick Carlisle is under the Cavaliers radar if Mike Brown screw us this playoff. Mike Brown should just be relegated back to his assistant coach duties and Carlisle would be calling the shot for the Cavaliers.

sakf stop being a prick. I was pointing out the manner in which it happens is similar to Coughlin becasue of their emphasis on descipline and meticulousness. Its interesting becasue that is what made them such effective coaches in the first place. Their strengh ends up being their undoing.

That is one of many ways a coach can succeed or fail. Some guys try to be "player's coaches" like Isiah.

Carlisle is a good coach but it seems he lost this team. This firing means they don't plan on trading JO IMO...

i think carisle is the wrong type of coach for our team.... we're a shooting/passing team with very little in terms of defense... carisle would lose his hair trying to get Toronto to hold opponents to under 85 points on a consistent basis... Adelman is my choice for Mitchell's replacement. He won't leave the west coast but, he's my choice.

Ricky C was in large part let go because he is a total arrogant prick, who was butting heads with Wallace, and was hardly on speaking terms with management.

And a top 5 all time coach became available.

I dont see carlisle being successful anywhere besides minnesota...or maybe cleveland. he might be able to do something good in seattle but i think his coaching style would fit well with the players that the twovles have.

How is that being a prick?

I simply pointed out that it's something that happens to a lot of coaches - and that's true.

Facts = I'm a prick?

Ben wallace? carlisle always seemed to me as a players coach. he always pushed for individual player achievement awards like sending in tapes of ben wallace to make him a DPOY and tapes of ron artest to make him a DPOY.

it seems like wallace is the one with a problem. he had an issue with carlisle, then he had issues with larry and then flip which resulted in him leaving.

Yes, you could definitely say Ben was the problem considering he has butted heads with Carilse, LB, Flip, and Skiles. Although, Carisle is still a social pariah-prick and had his problems with the players, specifically Ben.

Carlisle is one of the best coaches in the league, the Pacers are just a ruined franchise

Carlisle definatly has problems communicating but hey, he's a great coach. The guy wins ball games. Always thought he deserved better.
